SueJin Hwang graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences (1995). She went on to receive her DVM at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (2002) and completed a small animal internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Hwang returned to SF in 2006 where she continued to focus on emergency and critical care medicine. Being able to play a part in helping a sick or injured animal get better is her favorite part of being an ER doc.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Hwang enjoys woodworking, mushroom foraging, growing food, fishing, and taking care of her two golden mutts, goats, chickens, and donkeys.
